Here’s One I Didn’t Prepare Earlier (With Hovercrafts!)

It may be the over-indulgence of chocolate over the last week. Or more likely the major feelings of guilt for missing writing a post on this theme.  It won’t be great. It won’t be long. Perhaps I should let sleeping dogs lie, and not flog dead horses. However, I feel it necessary to right this terrible wrong and honour an individual that I think is awesome and explain why.

For the non-Australians amongst you I apologise, as this is a man you have most likely never heard of.  Hence the over-abundance of youtube clips to introduce you to the awesomeness of Dean Hutton.

I used to race home after school on a Thursday afternoon so that I wouldn’t miss The Curiosity Show (The link is well worth a read!), hosted by Dean Hutton and another equally awesome guy, Rob Morrison.

OK, very nerdy and it hasn’t aged well, but these guys- especially Dean- were pure awesomeness to me as a kid. They made science, the world, and my childhood wonderful. Awesome then, and they still are.

And finally, for those rare lovers of all things Hovercraft, a special treat:

About SG-3

A Scared,Weird Little Guy, SG-3 tries to wrangle his six kids under the age of 12 (including triplets, one of which has a "delightful combination" of heart defects) - but is not very good at it. A lover the great Tasmanian outdoors, but disliker of camping (especially sleeping bags!), he enjoys the odd bit of geocaching. In fact the odder the better!
